The appointment comes weeks after Pietersen joined England’s white-ball set-up as a specialist mentor.
Dafabet has announced former England international Kevin Pietersen MBE as its new Global Brand Ambassador, strengthening its connection with cricket audiences worldwide.
Pietersen commented on his appointment:
‘Cricket has given me so much over the years, and I’m looking forward to connecting with fans in new ways, sharing my experiences, and contributing to the growth of the game globally.’
What the role involves
In his role, Pietersen will contribute expert perspectives, behind-the-scenes insights, and engaging content for fans across Dafabet’s platforms.
John Cruces, Head of Sponsorships at Dafabet, said:
‘Kevin is one of cricket’s most iconic personalities, with a deep understanding of the game and a global fanbase. His passion, insight, and energy make him a perfect fit for Dafabet as we continue to expand our presence and bring fans closer to the action.’
Pietersen’s playing career
Dafabet describes Pietersen as one of England’s most dynamic batters. He scored 8,181 runs in 104 Test matches at an average of 47.29, and added 4,440 runs in 136 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 1,176 runs in 37 T20 Internationals (T20Is). The operator also describes him as one of the most recognisable figures in modern cricket, known for his attacking style and charisma.
Return to the England set-up
On 7 September 2026, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced Pietersen’s appointment as a specialist mentor to England’s men’s white-ball teams, working under head coach Brendon McCullum in the build-up to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in southern Africa.
His involvement is planned to include the winter white-ball tours to Australia and South Africa, the home series against Pakistan and New Zealand next summer, and the World Cup itself. Dafabet says the role sees him share his experience with the next generation of players.
Dafabet’s partnership with Cricket South Africa
Dafabet became the official Team Associate Sponsor of Cricket South Africa (CSA) in August 2024 under a three-year deal covering the Proteas men’s and women’s teams.
In June 2026, CSA named Dafabet Official Event Partner for the Proteas men’s home Test and ODI fixtures, and the operator was later named competition partner of the domestic Pro50 competitions for the 2026/27 season. Dafabet also retains its back-of-shirt sponsorship of the Proteas men and women.
